The 2018 edition of the T20 lucrative tournament is slated to be held from April 7 to May 27.

The first big buy of the day 2 was Krishappa Gowtham who was sold for Rs 6.2 crore to Rajasthan Royals even as three more teams - Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Mumbai Indians bidding for him.

Jaydev Unadkat was in great demand this morning as both Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings kept their paddle up for the Indian bowler till the bid price went up to 11 crore, which is when Rajasthan Royals swooped in to take him away for an astronomical amount of Rs 11.5 crore, the highest bid for an Indian player at this auction.

Both Royals and Mumbai Indians are busy in intense bidding today morning.

Out of 10 uncapped spinners, six remained unsold, but the remaining four saw heavy bidding.

Capped batsmen saw a lukewarm response from the 8 franchises, which are now only looking at filling the gaps in their squads. Out of the ten available for bidding, only three Indian batsmen found takers, while players like Shaun Marsh, Lendl Simmons, Eoin Morgan, Alex Hales and Travis Head found no takers.

Saurabh Tiwary was picked up by Mumbai Indians for Rs 80 lakh, while Mandeep Singh was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 1.4 crore. Manoj Tiwary was picked up by Kings XI Punjab for Rs 1 crore.

On day one, Ben Stokes was the highest paid player in the auction, with Rajasthan Royals buying his for Rs 12.5 cr. Krunal Pandya became the highest paid uncapped player in the history of the IPL, going to Mumbai Indians for Rs 8.8 cr.
